Why you get job rejections on weekends on the hour

 I get a fair few responses from potential employers, and there has been a trend of them arriving late compared to the application time, and most often at a time when nobody is supposed to be working. There is a pattern of this where it is either based on somebody really getting their energy together before the working week, or something to do with AI. Unfortunately, I made a conscious decision to use my own thinking powers to complete my work. Therefore any running out of tokens, pricing issues or anything to do with quotas and time limits are escaping me. After all, replacing your worrying about real-life issues, with worrying about token cost, various ad-hoc changes in pricing and the risk of running out of budget just before a required task is completed smacks of unprofessionalism.

Therefore, such an employer is perhaps not the best partner for you and this relationship will not work. Aside from another fact, which will put off most of your potential bosses - writing a post like this screams NON-COMPLIANCE to them. I.e. you will not be a good SLAVE. I waved good bye to my two last jobs just like that - a limit of offensive and absolutely vile behaviour while trying to put me in a box, covering up their own mistakes. If more people behaved this way, AI job crisis would be not such a big deal. But doing NO WORK reviewing CVs and/or spending a few minutes on Sunday while expecting employees to fully comply, is par for the course in most places of late. Something shifted. That SOMETHING is UNPROFESSIONAL people able to get by, cheat on their management or shareholders and get away with it at a MASSIVE HUMAN COST.

Disappearing agency

 The race to the bottom with the help of AI has resulted in so many spin-off efforts, that even AI itself is now confused. Whoever used to benefit from fleecing clients is now having to compete with the wannabees and the clients themselves. One company I had a job interview for was happily hacking an old website of their client just to keep them happy. It was obvious, that the CEO himself, doing all the work with AI now had very little idea about how it was built, but was happy to announce, that the client at least paid them "some money" for the fix. I.e. a literal race TO THE BOTTOM, in complete disregard of the long term. You asked for it, AI is here.
